State Senate President accused of taking illegal contributions

Illinois Senate President Don Harmon is disputing claims by the State Board of Elections that he took campaign dollars.  The Chicago Tribune reports the Oak Park Democrat filed notice that he plans to appeal the assertion he accepted millions of dollars more in campaign contributions than is allowed under law.  The state board of elections said he took just over four-million-dollars above the contribution limits.  Harmon championed the law, which aims to limit the impact of big money in Illinois politics.
